Las Vegas hosts the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo, the largest adult industry trade show in the world, every January. The 2026 edition runs January 21 through 24 at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, combining a novelty show, a business expo, a fan expo, and the AVN Awards in one event. Thousands of performers, producers, and industry professionals pass through the city for it, making Vegas the industry's biggest annual meeting point even outside its established convention and nightlife economy.

Legal Landscape
Nevada is the only US state with legal, licensed brothels - but not in Las Vegas. State law bars brothel licensing in any county above roughly 700,000 people, which rules out both Clark County (Las Vegas) and Washoe County (Reno) entirely. The ten counties that can license brothels are the rural ones, hours from the Strip. Production in Las Vegas itself runs on the same federal 2257 record-keeping baseline as any other US market, on top of one of the country's largest convention and hospitality economies.

Las Vegas is the most affordable of the four US cities on this list by a wide margin - 67.7 on Numbeo's 2026 cost of living index (world rank #93) and a rent index of just 37.7, roughly half of Los Angeles or Miami. Nevada also charges no state income tax at all, same as Florida, which combined with the lower cost of living is the practical financial case for basing here over LA.
