Prague
A major European adult production hub and home to one of the largest pornography websites in the world.
Industry Context
XVideos, one of the largest pornography websites globally, is headquartered at a Prague-based company, and the city has built a production ecosystem around that gravity. The country ranks third in the world for number of adult performers, behind only the United States and Russia.
Legal Landscape
The Czech Republic runs no adult-specific licensing regime - production companies and performers operate under the country's general trade-license system (a živnostenský list, held by a registered OSVČ, or self-employed person), the same registration any freelancer or small business uses. Combined with EU freedom of movement for cast and crew, that light-touch structure is a large part of why so many EU-facing studios base physical production in Prague rather than more heavily regulated Western European markets.
Cost of Living
Prague is the most affordable city on this entire list - 59.6 on Numbeo's 2026 cost of living index (world rank #130) and the lowest rent index of any city here at 32.0, well under half of London or New York. For performers and crew paid in euros or dollars, that gap is spendable difference, not just a statistic.
